We report the fabrication of a set of new rareearthfree magnetic compounds, which form the Fe 3 Co 3 Ti 2type hexagonal structure with P6m2 symmetry. Neutron powder diffraction shows a significant Fe/Co antisite mixing in the Fe 3 Co 3 Ti 2 structure, which has a strong effect on the magnetocrystalline anisotropy as revealed by firstprinciple calculations.
